National Instruments PCI-5153 Oscilloscope

The National Instruments PCI-5153 (Part Numbers: 780318-01, 780318-02, and 780318-03) is a 500 MHz Bandwidth, 8-bit, 2 GS/s PCI Oscilloscope. This high-speed device has two channels, each designed to sample at the same rate with flexible configurations for filtering, voltage range, and coupling. The National Instruments PCI-5153 is an ideal solution for applications with fast signals where as high as 500 MHz of analog bandwidth and flexible measurement configurations are needed. The PCI-5153 is offered as a hardware module that can easily be fixed into a standard desktop computer with one PCI slot available.

 On the front panel of this module, two Standard BNC Female Connectors (CH 0 and CH 1) are provided. Each of these two connectors can be used as an analog input connection for trigger acquisition and data digitization. Another standard BNC female connector (TRIG) is also provided to be used as an external analog trigger connection. For sample clock in, reference clock in, and digital trigger in/out connections, the National Instruments PCI-5153 comes equipped with a dedicated, standard SMB jack type connector called "PFI 0". However, for reference clock out, digital trigger in/out, and probe compensation connections, there is a separate, standard SMB jack type connector provided under the label "PFI 1".

The National Instruments PCI-5153 comes equipped with 8 MB/ch expansive onboard memory in its standard configuration. However, users with more extensive applications can have the memory extended to 256 MB/ch. The NI PCI-5153 can easily be configured with the help of a software application called Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX).
