National Instruments PCI-5922 Oscilloscope Device
The PCI-5922 (Part Numbers: 779659-01, 779659-02, and 779659-03) Oscilloscope Device manufactured by National Instruments is ideal for performance audio test, wireless communications, satellite, ultrasonic medical imaging, signal intelligence, Baseband I & Q, mass spectrometry, and other applications. The National Instruments PCI-5922 Oscilloscope Device boasts high resolution, a maximum bandwidth of 6 MHz, two voltage input channels, a versatile measurement range as high as 24 bits, and sample rates as fast as 15 MS per second.
The PCI-5922 comes with two types of application programming interfaces (APIs): NI-SCOPE SFP and NI-SCOPE Instrument Driver. The NI-SCOPE SFP obtains, regulates, assesses, and shows information, much like regular oscilloscopes. This API runs on a PC, so the user can look at and regulate waveforms from their computer. Several sessions of the NI-SCOPE SFP can be operating at the same time. The NI-SCOPE Instrument Driver, on the other hand, arranges and employs the oscilloscope’s hardware and delivers acquisition which can be tailored to suit the user, along with control, assessment, and measurement functions through application programming interfaces such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio, Microsoft Visual C/C++, .NET. The device hardware can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.
Other features of the NI PCI 5922 include: adaptable settings for voltage range and coupling, numerous triggering modes, a large onboard memory, along with an instrument drive that contains data streaming and assessment functions. The device is equipped with a 9-pin mini-circular DIN, 2 BNC female, and 2 SMB front panel connectors. The NI instrument can both be self-calibrated and externally calibrated. However, external calibration is recommended at least once in 2 years.
In addition, there are several different versions of the National Instruments PCI-5922 model. The only variation between models is the onboard memory size. The smallest capacity for the onboard memory is 8 MB per channel (part number 779659-01). The next is 32 MB (part number 779659-02) and the largest is 256 MB per channel (part number 779659-03). The 32 and 256 MB/channel versions can be utilized with the Spectral Measurements Toolkit for advanced frequency-domain measurements in avionics, signal intelligence, and communications applications. The device weighs 14.6 oz., and measures 14 x 0.8 x 4.4 in. in dimension.
