National Instruments PXIe-5185 PXI Oscilloscope
The PXIe-5185 (Part Numbers: 782057-01 and 782057-02) is a Digitizer that features leading analog performance optimized for automated test applications. The NI PXIe-5185 has a digital backend that uses NI Synchronization and Memory Core (SMC) technology to deliver high data throughput at rates higher than 700 MB/s.
The National Instruments PXIe-5185 Oscilloscope has superior signal accuracy, low phase noise with a high effective number of bits, and a built-in self-calibration feature. The analog front end and analog-to-digital converter integrated into the 3 GHz NI PXIe-5185 is used across the full suite of high-performance oscilloscopes. The Digitizer’s low 500 fs rms results in a <6 effective number of bits at 3 GHz. The phase noise is a critical factor when evaluating digitizers and oscilloscopes that sample at multi-giga sample per second rates. The built-in self-calibration, when initiated by the user, further optimizes the gain and offset accuracy of the digitizer and calibrates the analog trigger path.
The NI PXIe 5185 comes with 2 analog channels with a 50-ohm impedance path and an 8-bit wide vertical resolution. The input range is from 110 mV to 1 V full scale. This model can sample at speeds up to 12.5 GS/s, with a maximum analog bandwidth of 3 GHz. This module runs on a Windows Operating System and has a maximum memory depth of 1024 Mpts. It also features multiple triggering modes, a deep onboard memory, and a driver software API that includes data streaming and analysis functions.
This PXI Oscilloscope features internal and external clock sources. It has a sample clock jitter (characteristic) from 12 kHz to 10 MHz, timebase frequency up to 3.125 GHz, and timebase accuracy that is same with the user-provided reference clock. The external sample clock supports a frequency range from 1.6 GHz to 3.125 GHz.
