National Instruments NI-5791 RF Adapter Module for FlexRIO

Featured with state-of-the-art CLIP technology, the National Instruments NI-5791 (Part Number: 782510-01) is an RF Adapter Module for FlexRIO. This model is specifically designed to operate in combination with a compatible NI FlexRIO™ FPGA module. It is important to note that the NI-5791 is only compatible with the National Instruments PXIe-796xR FPGA modules. This model comes featured with a 130 MS/s, 2-channel ADC, with a notable 14-bit accuracy and a DAC.

To facilitate LO sharing for complex, multiple-channel applications, this device has dedicated LO input/output connectors. The NI-5791 comes equipped with clocking options, an enabled timing chip, programmable attenuators, and selectable receiving/transmitting filters. The front panel of this RF Adapter Module has RX IN, AUX I/O, CLK IN, LO OUT, LO IN, CLK OUT, and TX OUT connectors. Users can employ any 50 Ω SMA cable to access the connectors provided on the front panel of this module. The NI-5791 is capable to upconvert and downconvert radio frequency (RF) signals within a range of 0.2 GHz to 4.4 GHz. However, the module requires the SHH19-H19-AUX cable from National Instruments (Part Numbers: 152629-01 or 152629-02) to access the programmable function interface (PFI) and digital I/O (DIO) signals on the AUX I/O connector.

For HDL IP integration, the National Instruments NI-5791 incorporates a component-level intellectual property (CLIP) as well. The CLIP offers access to I and Q data for 1 receiving channel and 1 transmitting channel. In addition, the CLIP offers a User Command Interface for routine configurations of the programmable attenuators, baseband clocking, receive amplifier, LO filters, etc.
