National Instruments NI-9250 C Series Sound and Vibration Input Module

The National Instruments NI-9250 (Part Number: 783827-01) is a Sound and Vibration Input Module from the C Series. This 2-Channel, ±5 V Range module can be used with integrated electronic piezoelectric (IEPE), as well as non-IEPE sensors like microphones and accelerometers. In addition, the NI 9250 supports smart TEDS sensors. This module comes with a broad dynamic range, IEPE signal conditioning, and software-selectable AC/DC coupling. 

The maximum sample rate achievable with this module is 102.4 kS/s/ch. Both of its two channels measure signals simultaneously and have integrated anti-aliasing filters. These filters perform optimally by adjusting to the user’s sample rate. When used in conjunction with the National Instruments software products, the NI-9250 provide processing functionality that can be utilized for condition monitoring such as order tracking and frequency analysis. Unlike typical consumer products and sound cards, this Sound and Vibration Input Module is offered with BNC connectivity that incorporates both an IEPE signal excitation source and a TEDS input path.

The NI-9250 allows for the enabling or disabling of the IEPE signal Excitation Source, therefore eliminating the requirement of any external sensor power. Pairing together an NI-9250 with an NI-9260 through BNC connectors results in the creation of an easy-to-use, frequency response analyzer. This module offers software-selectable excitation current for analog input channel(s) set to operate in AC coupling. By type, the ADC (analog-to-digital-converter) incorporated in this module is 24 bits, Delta-Signal with analog pre-filtering. The National Instruments NI-9250 offers ±30 V maximum overvoltage protection on one channel at a time.
