National Instruments PXI-2564 PXI Relay Module

The National Instruments NI PXI-2564 (Part Number: 778572-64) is a 5 A, 16-Channel SPST PXI Relay Module. This Relay Module comes featured with independent SPST relays. All relays installed in this module are non-latching. These relays are known for their low thermal offsets and very low on-resistance. This model can easily be programmed through software. The NI PXI-2564 is considered an ideal choice for applications where switching medium-to-high power signals and loads is required, such as in automotive, military, or automated test applications.

This relay module is a 3U, one slot, PXI module, which comes equipped with a 37-pin D-SUB, male I/O connector. The relays used in the construction of this module have gold-plated relay contact material and are designed to operate within 10.4 ms (maximum). In addition, these relays are known for their reliability as they come with a mechanical relay life of 2 × 107 cycles and electrical relay life of 1 × 105 cycles. The device has a switch bandwidth of 10 MHz and a scan rate of 45 cycles per second.

As far as its trigger characteristics are concerned, the National Instruments PXI-2564 can receive signals through PXI trigger lines <0...7> at 150 ns minimum pulse width. This module can also generate trigger signals at 1 µs to 62 µs programmable pulse width. With this relay module, the user can acquire 750 VA maximum switching power and maximum 5 A carry or switching current per channel. This model allows the operation of 16 channels simultaneously at maximum current. The NI PXI-2564 consumes 5 Watts of power at 5V.

The PXI-2564 is run using the NI SWITCH driver software which can be programmed with LabVIEW. The device can be configured using the Measurement & Explorer (MAX) tool. The NI device weighs 9.5 oz, and measures 8.5 x 0.8 x 5.1 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, a storage temperature range of -20 °C to 70 °C, an operational and storage humidity range of 10% to 90% and 5% to 95% respectively, and an operating and non-operating random vibration of 0.3 grms and 2.4 grms respectively – all at a frequency range of 5 Hz to 500 Hz.
