The PXI-5421 (Part Numbers: 778697-01, 778697-02, 778697-03, 778697-04) is a 100 MS per second PXI Waveform Generator with 16-bit resolution and up to 512 MB of locally available memory in a minimal, 1 opening 3U PXI module. With this blend of high-resolution and deep memory, the user can create long, exact, aperiodic waveforms. The NI PXI-5421 is perfect for a huge range of utilizations in communications, customer gadgets, scientific research, automotive, and military/aviation applications. Since the PXI-5421 uses the PCI-based PXI phase, waveforms can be downloaded up to 280 times speedier than with GPIB-based generators. By utilizing PXI timing and synchronization and the Synchronization and Memory Core (SMC), the user can make jolt/reaction frameworks with digitizers and fast advanced I/O or synchronize different subjective waveform generators to shape a phase-coherent multichannel generator framework. This PXI Waveform Generator comes with an Output Enable feature, which is software-selectable. When disabled, CH 0 out is terminated with a 1 W resistor with a value equal to the selected output impedance. On the other hand, in the Maximum Output Overload the CH 0 output terminal can be connected to a 50 Ω, ±12 V (±8 V for the Direct Path) source without sustaining any damage. No damage occurs if the CH 0 output is shorted to ground indefinitely. This instrument also incorporates a Clock Source. The internal sample clocks can either be locked to a reference clock using a phase-locked loop or derived from the onboard VCXO frequency reference. The device has a weight of 12.1 oz., with the dimensions: 8.5 x 0.8 x 5.1 in.
PXI-5421 Mature Status has been announced by National Instruments, but this Waveform Generator will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
