National Instruments 779126-01 C Series Motor Drive Interface Module

National Instruments part number 779126-01 describes the NI-9505 DC Brushed Servo Motor Drive, a C Series Module equipped with a 9-pin female DSUB connector for use in various testing scenarios. The 779126-01 offers incredible customization and flexibility for the user, combining with a LabVIEW FPGA Module to provide a configurable actuator amplifier or motor drive.

Connection to a DC brushed servo motor and a motor DC power supply can be achieved via the screw terminal connector of the 779126-01. While using one wire for the screw terminal is recommended, a 2-wire ferrule can be used to utilize two wires. The Motor DC power supply for the 779126-01 is designed to operate within a voltage range of 8 to 30 VDC.

To protect the 779126-01, it’s power supply includes safeguards that protect from undervoltage, overvoltage, and reverse polarity. 

Another important feature of 779126-01 drive are the encoder inputs. These three inputs can be configured as either single-ended (TTL compatible) or differential. Both of these input types operate in a voltage range of 0 to 5.5 VDC, while the threshold of the inputs ranges from 0.8 V to 2.4 V. 

Designed for use in a variety of test setups, the power consumption of the 779126-01 is 100 mW when in active mode and only 0.4 mW while in sleep mode. The screw terminal wiring of the module has a gauge range for copper conductors of 0.2 mm² to 2.5 mm² (26 to 14 AWG), with a temperature rating of 90 °C (194 °F). The device weighs 155 g (5.5 oz)
