The National Instruments 779357-01 C Series Voltage Input Module is part of the NI-9205 Model Series. This module, which is compatible with both CompactDAQ and CompactRIO systems, provides a high-performance interface for analog input applications in industrial automation. It has 16 differential or 32 single-ended channels, each of which provides exact measurements via its 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC).
The 779357-01 accommodates a wide range of signal levels used in industrial environments, with configurable input ranges from ±200 mV to ±10 V. Robust overvoltage protection of ±30 V between input channels and common (COM) protects against signal transients and guarantees dependable operation. The module also includes a double isolation barrier for channel-to-earth ground, which improves noise immunity, safety, and allows for high common-mode voltage ranges. It is rated at 1,000 Vrms for transient overvoltage protection.
This module allows for setup versatility by supporting both differential and single-ended analog inputs. It can quickly acquire data for real-time monitoring and control applications because of its 250 kS/s aggregate sampling rate. Moreover, it makes triggering possible, improving synchronization with outside events for accurate data collection.
The 779357-01's analog input features include a 16-bit resolution that is assured to have no missing codes. Its quick conversion time at maximum sampling rate of 4.00 μs (for CompactRIO & CompactDAQ chassis) or 4.50 μs (for R Series Expansion chassis) guarantees the least amount of lag in data collecting. With a nominal input range of ±10 V to ±0.2 V and a DC input coupling, the module keeps good signal integrity.
For digital interfacing, the 779357-01 features one digital input channel and one digital output channel, both protected against overvoltage up to ±30 V. It can accept external digital triggers with a maximum delay of 100 ns through PFI0 sources.
In terms of power consumption, the module operates efficiently with a maximum active mode power consumption of 625 mW and a minimal sleep mode power consumption of 15 mW. It dissipates thermal energy effectively.
