782975-01, 8 Input Channels, 95 S/s per Channel, NI-9212 C Series Temperature Input Module
National Instruments 782975-01 Temperature Input Module
National Instruments part number 782975-01 is an identifying part number for the NI-9212 a C Series Temperature Input Module with 8 differential analog Input Channels and a maximum sample rate of 95 S/s per channel. This module comes with two part numbers. The Part number 785259-01 has a measurement accuracy of 0.71 degrees C, 60 Vrms Ch-Ch isolation, and a mini-TC front connector. The NI 782975-01 offers a measurement accuracy of 0.39 degrees C, 250 Vrms Ch-Ch isolation, and a screw terminal front connector. This module is compatible with both CompactDAQ and CompactRIO platforms, making it versatile for various applications, including in-vehicle data logging, battery stack testing, and white goods testing.
It features 8 isolated thermocouple channels capable of generating simultaneous samples, with a maximum sample rate of 95 S/s/channel. It is hot-swappable and operates within a maximum voltage range of ±78.125 mV. The module is operated through LabVIEW software, which facilitates large project development by using DAQ assistance and Instrument I/O assistance to produce automatic code. LabVIEW is beneficial for advanced measurement analysis and digital signal processing.
Designed with an open thermocouple detection circuit, this device includes a 24-bit analog-to-digital converter. Each channel has a resistor that generates input impedance between the COM and TC terminals. The NI-782975-01 supports a high-speed timing mode, which helps reduce power line frequencies, reject noise, and enhance signal bandwidth and sample rate. Each channel includes an open thermocouple detection (OTD) circuit, consisting of a current source between the TC+ and TC- terminals. When an open thermocouple is connected, the current source creates a full-scale voltage across the terminals.
The NI 782975-01 supports various timing modes: high-resolution, best 50 Hz rejection, best 60 Hz rejection, and high-speed. The high-resolution mode enhances accuracy and noise rejection, effectively filtering out power line frequencies. The best 50 Hz rejection mode is tailored to minimize 50 Hz noise, while the best 60 Hz rejection mode targets 60 Hz noise. The high-speed mode maximizes the sample rate and signal bandwidth.
