National Instruments NI-9208 C Series Current Input Module

The NI-9208 is a C Series Current Input Module from National Instruments. This module has three part numbers with a few differences. First, part number 785041-01 has a Spring Terminal front connector, 250 Vrms Ch-Earth Ground Isolation, and is not conformal coated. Next, part number 780968-01 has D-Sub front connectors, 60 VDC Ch-Earth Ground Isolation, and is not conformal coated. Lastly, part number 780968-02 has D-Sub front connectors, 60 VDC Ch-Earth Ground Isolation, and is conformal coated.

Supported hardware for the NI 9208 card is CompactDAQ/CompactRIO systems. The design of this module is industrial standard. The NI 9208 module has a high-channel density, which makes it more efficient and economical by reducing the overall number of modules needed and leaving terminals open for other measurements. The NI 9208 National Instruments module has a high-resolution mode. In this mode, the module removes a low-frequency noise of 50/60 Hz.            

The NI-9208 Current Input Module has 16 analog input channels with a resolution of 24-bits. These channels have Delta-Sigma type ADC. This module supports a scanned sampling mode, and has an input impedance of the channels is 85 Ω. The NI 9208’s maximum sample rate is 500 S per second, and the device can be used in two modes: High-resolution mode and High-speed mode. The instrument has a maximum power consumption rate of 282 mW in active mode. It is equipped with either a spring terminal or 37-pin D-SUB front connector. The spring terminal model weighs 5.7 oz., while the D-SUB model weighs slightly less at 5.1 oz.

The device is compatible with various software packages such as LabVIEW, LabVIEW FPGA module, LabVIEW Real-Time module.
