National Instruments NI-9216 C Series Temperature Input Module

The NI-9216 (Part Numbers: 783863-01783863-02785186-01783664-01) is a C series Temperature Input Module by NI with three different part numbers. Part numbers 783863-01 and 783863-02 both have 60 Vrms Ch-Earth Ground Isolation with a D-Sub front connector. Part number 785186-01 has 250 Vrms Ch-Earth Ground Isolation and a Spring Terminal front connector. This module has a sample rate of 400 samples per second and a resolution of 24 bits. The NI-9216 comes with eight channels to input the data. This module offers two different modes of operation to further enhance the operational capabilities. These two modes are high sample rate or high resolution mode.

The NI 9216 enables the measurements that involve resistance temperatures. This module can detect and measure, with high accuracy, enabling it for design requirements. It can also excite each channel separately to do measurements. The module is compatible for the control or operation through software packages such as the LabVIEW Professional Development System for Windows, LabVIEW FPGA Module, and the LabVIEW Real-Time Module. It allows the user to take advantage of various advanced capabilities. The NI-9216 C series Temperature Input Module offers the scanned mode of operation for sampling. It also has an exceptional conversion time, with the value of 200 ms per channel or 1600 ms for all channels. These values are for the high resolution mode of operation. Its value for high-speed mode of operation is 2.5 ms per channel and 20 ms for all channels.

The NI-9216 module can complete measurements for a wide range of resistance from 0 to 400 ohms. This enables users to achieve their desired quality standards at the industrial level for various requirements.

The spring terminal model of the NI-9216 weighs 5.7 oz, while its DSUB counterpart weighs slightly less at 5.04 oz. It has a recommended operating temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C, a storage temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C, an operating and storage humidity range of 10% RH to 90% RH and 5% RH to 95% RH respectively, and a random and sinusoidal operating vibration of 5 grms and 5 g respectively – all at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz.
