National Instruments cFP-DO-410 Digital Output Module for Compact FieldPoint

The cFP-DO-410 (Part number: 777318-410) is a Digital Output Module for Compact FieldPoint designed by National Instruments. The module can control digital signals. The output module features electronic fuses at the output terminals. This feature provides protection to the module against short circuits. The LEDs are dedicated to the fuses and these light up during an overcurrent situation. The fuse is reset when the overcurrent state has been removed. The DO-410 is compatible with multiple devices. It supports 5 VDC, 12 VDC, and 24 VDC modules. The cFP-DO-410 is very easy to install. The NI device features onboard diagnostics that ensure easy maintenance. It has an all channel update rate of 20 kHz. 

The cFP-DO-410 module incorporates eight DO terminals. The voltage range of these digital terminals is 5 VDC to 30 VDC. Other specifications of the module can be categorized into two groups. The first one is 5-10 V and another group is 10-30V. When the voltage is 5-10 VDC, the output impedance and current values are 2 Ω and 0.67A. When the voltage level is 10 to 30 VDC, these values change to 0.3 Ω and 1 A respectively. When all channels are used simultaneously, 8 A current passes through the module. If a short circuit occurs, a leakage current of 1 mA passes through the cFP-DO-410.

The cFP-DO-410 Digital Output Module requires 450 mW power during normal operation. The power requirement increases to 620 mW if the short circuit occurs. The cFP-DO-410 is equipped with 18 indicator lights. Two LEDs are for POWER and READY status. Two LEDs are associated with each channel. One LED lights up during normal operation and another indicates the overcurrent status.  The cFP-DO-410 also features eight power terminals, which are used to connect the module with power field devices.

The NI device weighs 3.9 oz. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of –40 to 70 °C and –55 to 85 °C respectively, a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%, random and sinusoidal operating vibrations of 5 grms and 5 g respectively–all at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz.
