For serial communication, the CompactRIO Controller provides RS-232 ports. For data bits, it can be configured as 5, 6, 7, 8, for Stop bits 1, 2, for Parity Odd, Even, Mark, Space, and for Flow Control RTS/CTS, XON/XOFF, DTR/DSR.
The 779055-01 features a nonvolatile memory of 512 MB and a DRAM of 64 MB, providing ample space for essential data and the processing speed for real-time operations. This module supports screw terminal wiring of gauge 0.5 mm^2 to 2.1 mm^2 and it must be stripped from the end of the insulation of length 7mm. This wiring requires a screw flange for a secured connection with a torque of 0.3 Nm to 0.4 Nm.
In terms of ambient environmental conditions, this module can work at temperatures of -40 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius and a suitable storage temperature of -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius. It has an operating relative humidity range of 10% RH to 90% RH, noncondensing, and storage relative humidity range of 5% RH to 95% RH, noncondensing. It has an IP protection rating of IP40 thus making this module resistant to entry of insects and damage from tools and wirings.
This module is designed for indoor use only where nonconductive pollution occurs. The 779055-01 module has operating shocks of 30 g, 11 ms half-sine; 50 g, 3 ms half-sine; 18 shocks at 6 orientations with random operating vibration of 5 grms, 10 Hz to 500 Hz and sinusoidal vibration of 5 g, 10 Hz to 500 Hz making it suitable for operating under harsh conditions.
