The 780718-01 guarantees effective processing and performance with its 533 MHz CPU and 256 MB DRAM. With its 2 GB of nonvolatile storage, you'll have plenty of room to hold programs and important data. Although it doesn't have built-in C Series I/O module slots, it can be readily combined with a suitable CompactRIO Chassis to use C Series I/O modules, which will increase its usefulness and flexibility.
One of the 780718-01's main advantages is its connectivity. It provides two Ethernet ports to facilitate high-speed network communication; one port supports 10BaseT, 100BaseTX, and 1000BaseTX Ethernet, while the second port supports 10BaseT and 100BaseTX Ethernet. A USB connector with a maximum data rate of 480 Mb/s and a maximum current of 500 mA is also included on the controller, making it possible to connect mass storage devices formatted with the FAT16 and FAT32 file systems. A vast array of devices, including displays and input devices, are compatible with the RS-232 serial port since it supports many baud rates ranging from 300 bps to 230,400 bps.
During startup, the internal high-precision real-time clock of the 780718-01 synchronizes with the system clock to provide precise timestamp data that is necessary for time-sensitive applications. With an accuracy of 200 ppm, or 35 ppm at 25°C, the integrated RTC guarantees accurate timekeeping.
Regarding power consumption, the 780718-01 functions within a voltage range of 9 V to 35 V during powerup and 6 V to 35 V following powerup. With just 17 W needed for the controller alone and up to 35 W needed to power eight C Series modules, it has an efficient power consumption. A maximum of 35 VDC and 55 W secondary power supply is advised.
