The National Instruments 781174-01 CompactRIO Controller is a key component of the cRIO-9024 Model series. This robust, fanless controller with an 800 MHz CPU, 512 MB DRAM, and 4 GB of storage is perfect for data logging, analysis activities, and deterministic control. It offers exceptional determinism and dependability and runs on the Wind River VxWorks real-time operating system using the LabVIEW Real-Time Module software.
With dual Ethernet ports, including 10/100 and 10/100/1000 compatibility, the 781174-01 enables programmatic communication over networks.. Additionally, it hosts file servers and embedded Web servers for remote user interface. To increase the amount of storage available for embedded logging applications, the controller has a Hi-Speed USB host connector that may be used to connect external storage devices such hard drives and flash drives.
The 781174-01 has an RS232 serial port for peripheral connectivity, with options for data, stop bits, parity, and flow control. It supports baud rates ranging from 600 to 230,400 bps. A maximum data rate of 480 Mb/s and a maximum current of 500 mA are supported via its USB connector.
Engineered for reliability in severe situations, this controller operates within a wide temperature range of -20 to 55°C and supports dual 9 to 35 VDC supply inputs, making it suited for remote applications using battery or solar power. It may be connected to any four- or eight-slot CompactRIO reconfigurable chassis, and each I/O module is controlled by user-defined FPGA circuitry.
The 781174-01 is compatible with the NI 9144 C Series expansion chassis, allowing for the integration of more deterministic I/O for specific applications. Its fault-tolerant file system improves data-logging programs' dependability.
The controller synchronizes embedded code execution to FPGA-generated interrupt requests or internal millisecond real-time clock sources. The LabVIEW Real-Time ETS OS simplifies the development of embedded applications, providing reliability for time-critical control and acquisition loops, as well as lower-priority loops for postprocessing and communication
