The National Instruments 782128-01 compactRIO single-board controller is a part of the sbRIO-9636 Model series. This integrated controller combines a real-time processor, a user-reconfigurable FPGA, and I/O functionalities on a single PCB. It functions as a flexible solution designed for high-volume OEM applications requiring robust performance, dependability, and adaptability.
This controller's 400 MHz CPU, 512 MB of nonvolatile memory, and 256 MB of system memory are its key components. With 58 DSP48s, 27,288 6-input LUTs, and 54,576 flip-flops, it has a Xilinx Spartan-6 LX45 FPGA. In order to ensure effective data processing and handling capabilities, it also provides 2,088 kbits of accessible block RAM and supports up to 5 DMA channels.
There are several different connectivity options available on the controller, including Ethernet, CAN, USB, serial, and SDHC interfaces. 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps of communication speed are supported by the network interface for 10BaseT and 100BaseTX Ethernet, which follow IEEE 802.3 standards. In addition to providing flexible configuration options for data bits, stop bits, parity, and flow control, the RS-232 DTE serial interface supports baud rates up to 230,400 bps. Likewise, the RS-485 serial port handles numerous data transmission topologies and allows baud rates of up to 460,800 bps.
Communication between embedded CAN devices and CAN networks is made possible at baud rates between 10 kbps and 1 Mbps by means of the NXP PCA82C251T transceiver. Up to 480 Mb/s of high-speed data transfer are possible with the USB 2.0 High-Speed connector, carrying a 500 mA maximum current draw.
The 782128-01 controller can handle up to 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog input channels with a maximum aggregate sampling rate of 200 kS/s and a resolution of 16 bits. Four channels with a 16-bit DAC resolution and a maximum update rate of 336 kS/s are included in the analog output features, which support a range of ±10 V.
