It does not require the LabVIEW Real-Time Module for accessing C Series I/O on Windows-based systems. The LabVIEW FPGA Module can be used to program the Spartan-6 LX45 FPGA without needing prior FPGA digital design experience. 

For high-speed control applications, the FPGA on this chassis offers dependable high-speed I/O, adjustable timing, and sophisticated processing algorithms. However, the LabVIEW FPGA Module is not necessary if users only want to access the I/O through the NI RIO Scan Interface.To install the NI 782445-01 Ethernet Expansion Chassis, you will need the chassis itself, the NI-RIO Software DVD, and C Series I/O modules. For mounting, you will require either a DIN rail mount kit or a panel mount kit, along with two M4 or number 8 flathead screws if not using a kit. Additionally, a number 2 Phillips screwdriver, a power supply, and an Ethernet cable are necessary.
