National Instruments 783816-01 CompactRIO Single-Board Controller
The National Instruments 783816-01 CompactRIO Single-Board Controller is an essential part of the sbRIO-9607 Model family. The integration of a real-time CPU, an FPGA with reprogrammable settings, and I/O functions onto a single PCB provides a comprehensive solution provided by this embedded controller. It places a strong emphasis on high performance, adaptability, and dependability and is especially made for high volume OEM applications.
The processor of the 783816-01 is a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 running at 667 MHz, paired with a Xilinx Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC. The operating system that drives it, NI Linux Real-Time, offers a stable foundation for real-time processing applications. It guarantees effective application execution and storing thanks to its 512 MB of volatile DRAM and 512 MB of nonvolatile RAM.
With built-in Gigabit Ethernet connections on the front panel and through the RIO Mezzanine Card (RMC), as well as CAN, serial, and USB connectors, this controller provides several communication possibilities. With direct access to the CPU and digital I/O FPGA lines, the RMC connector enables high-bandwidth, high-speed connectivity. It offers enough versatility to meet different interface needs with its 96 3.3 V digital I/O connections.
In order to provide flexible networking capabilities, the Ethernet ports support the 10Base-T, 100Base-TX, and 1000Base-T Ethernet standards. An analogous range of variable communication choices is offered by serial ports, which accept a variety of baud rates, data bits, stop bits, and parity configurations. These include the RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces. With support for baud rates ranging from 10 kbps to 1 Mbps, the onboard CAN interface improves communication even further.
USB 2.0 ports are also included in the 783816-01 for fast data transfer and external device connectivity. By monitoring the printed circuit board and CPU/FPGA junction temperatures, the onboard temperature monitoring sensors help to optimize thermal performance and ease thermal validation.
When it comes to software compatibility, the 783816-01 requires LabVIEW 2015, the relevant Real-Time and FPGA modules, and the August 2015 NI CompactRIO Device Drivers.
