Part Number 783832-01 from National Instruments is the version of the cRIO-9065 controller with extended temperature capabilities and a Xilinx Zynq-7000 processor. The powerful Xilinx processor of this dual-core controller runs at a speed of 667 MHz, and is an XC7Z020 All Programmable SoC that features an ARM Cortex-A9 architecture. The reconfigurable FPGA houses 85,000 logic cells, 106,400 flip-flops, 53,200 6-input LUTs, and 220 DSP slices. It can easily accommodate 16 DMA channels with it’s 4,480 kbits of available block RAM, and is also able to handle 32 logical interrupts.
The 783832-01 controller is conveniently equipped with four slots, and supports the NI Linux Real-Time operating system. It contains 1 GB of nonvolatile memory in addition to 512 MB of volatile memory. In terms of network compatibility, the 783832-01 complies with IEEE 802.3 compatibility standards, with a network interface that supports 10, 100, and 1000Base-T Ethernet. The controller also features communication rates of 10 Mb/s, 100 Mb/s, and 1,000 Mb/s, which are auto-negotiable for half/full-duplex modes. The 783832-01 fits into a variety of testing setups with a maximum cabling distance of 100 meters per segment.
LabVIEW 2014 SP1 or later is required when utilizing the 783832-01 with LabVIEW software. This is true for both Real-Time Modules and FPGA Modules. When it comes to driver software, the 783832-01 requires NI-RIO Device Drivers version 14.5 or later.
The 783832-01 features a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed device port that has a standard “B” connector, which enables a maximum data rate of 480 Mb/s. It also includes a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed host port with a standard “A” connector that is capable of the same max data rate. The controller also stands out with it's extended temperature capabilities, operating in a usual temperature range from -40 °C to 70 °C ( -40 °F to 158°F).
