The NI-9147 (Part numbers: 783496-01 and 783496-02) is a rugged Ethernet CompactRIO Expansion Chassis for NI C Series modules. This model has a Zynq-7000 (Z-7020) FPGA, 512 MB nonvolatile memory, 256 MB DRAM, and a 10Base-T, 100Base-T, 1000Base-T Ethernet network interface, with IEEE 802.3 compatibility. The NI 9147 speeds up the expansion of the user’s real-time system by using the onboard FPGA for inline processing and high-speed I/O and control. The NI 9147 CompactRIO Chassis can also be easily incorporated with other expansion chassis systems, PXI systems, and computers that run Windows OS.
The NI-9147 consists of a number of hardware components that enables deterministic distributed I/O. This slave Chassis features two ports and a Zynq-7000 FPGA that function as the C series module’s interface, which handles I/O reads and writes based on instructions and timing from the EtherCAT IP.
The NI 9147 Ethernet CompactRIO Chassis has an internal Real-Time clock accuracy of 5 ppm and data rate up to 480 Mbps. This Chassis accepts a power range from 9 VDC to 30 VDC and has its maximum Reverse-voltage protection at 30 VDC. With four C Series modules, the power input is at 11 W, and at 7 W without C Series modules. While being operated, random and sinusoidal vibration is at 5 grms, 10 Hz to 500 Hz and 5 g, 10 Hz to 500 Hz respectively. The NI-9147 Ethernet CompactRIO Chassis’ dimensions are 7.01 in. × 3.44 in. × 2.50 in. This model weighs 23.98 oz.
