National Instruments NI-9151 CompactRIO Chassis

The NI 9151 (Part Number: 779008-01) links straight to the digital connectors on Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Devices or PXI Reconfigurable I/O Modules and accommodates C Series I/O Modules for high-performance, industrial signal conditioning applications. This Chassis can be mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail or on a panel. The DIN rail mounting option is ideal if the user has a DIN rail configuration or if they require the capability to swiftly take the CompactRIO Chassis out of the configuration. For the DIN rail mount option, a clip is required as well. On the other hand, the panel mount option is suitable for applications involving high shock and vibration. Also, keep in mind that prior to mounting the NI-9151, the user should ensure that the cable is not attached to the Chassis.

The National Instruments NI 9151 CompactRIO Chassis must have the green panhead screw at the end connected to ground. If the user is utilizing shielded cables for the I/O module wiring, then they can link the shield to the panhead screw. To link the Chassis to an R Series Device, the user must utilize a SHC68-68-RDIO cable. To use C Series modules with the NI-9151, the user should install NI CompactRIO Module Support software on their system, as well as the NI R Series Multifunction RIO Device Drivers software. Additionally, this model comes equipped with one 68-pin connector.

Other features to keep in mind about this CompactRIO Chassis are that the NI-9151 does not support sleep mode and has an active mode chassis power consumption of 0.5 W, adds 4-slot expansion chassis to one R Series deice, and can generate any timing, triggering, and synchronization scheme with a resolution of 25 ns.
