National Instruments 779295-01 Multifunction I/O Device
The multifunction I/O device National Instruments 779295-01 is designated as a member of the PCI-6225 model series. With its analog and digital I/O, counters/timers, and digital triggering features, this device offers a complete solution for data acquisition (DAQ) requirements. Its purpose is to provide dependable and affordable DAQ performance for a variety of uses, such as research, design verification/testing, production test procedures, and laboratory automation.
With 40 differential or 80 single-ended channels and a 16-bit ADC resolution, the 779295-01 has a powerful analog input section. This device ensures accurate readings since its differential nonlinearity (DNL) ensures that no codes are lost. Effective data processing is further supported by the analog input section's modest signal bandwidth of 700 kHz and 4,095 sample-capable input FIFO size. In order to maintain signal integrity, crosstalk at 100 kHz is reduced to -75 dB for neighbouring channels and -90 dB for non-adjacent channels.
Along with its ability to accept analog inputs, the 779295-01 has two analog output channels, each having a resolution of 16 bits DAC. Smooth and accurate signal generation is ensured by the analog output section, which assures monotonicity and a DNL of ±1 LSB.
Eight channels (P0.<0..7>) and sixteen channels (PFI <0..7>/P1, PFI <8..15>/P2) make up the device's 24 digital I/O channels. Digital signal processing is customizable because each terminal can be separately configured as an input or an output. In order to provide strong protection against electrical transients, the digital I/O section has two pins with input voltage protection up to ±20 V and a standard pull-down resistor of 50 kΩ.
Two general-purpose 32-bit counters/timers that can measure edge counting, pulse, semi-period, period, and two-edge separation are included in the 779295-01. It also supports two-pulse encoding and Channel Z reloading for location measurements utilizing X1, X2, and X4 quadrature encoding. The counters/timers are capable of equal time sampling, frequency division, and the generation of pulses and pulse trains with dynamic updates. There are three different frequencies for internal base clocks: 80 MHz, 20 MHz, and 0.1 MHz. The external base clock frequencies are 0 MHz to 20 MHz. The precision of the base clock is kept at 50 ppm.
