National Instruments 779682-01 Sound and Vibration Device
National Instruments created the 779682-01 Sound and Vibration Device, a flexible data acquisition module specifically for use in sound and vibration applications. The 779682-01 is a descriptive part number for the PCI-4472B model, providing accurate, high-precision frequency-domain measurements. It is a great option for applications demanding in-depth investigation of sound and vibration because it has eight channels for dynamic signal capture.
Because the input channels of the device have Integrated Electronic Piezoelectric (IEPE) signal conditioning, transducers such as accelerometers and microphones can be used with it. Even with equipment that has very broad dynamic ranges, this compatibility guarantees reliable measurements. With simple software configuration, the 779682-01 allows both AC and DC connections. The device can be used for a variety of tasks due to its versatility, such as machine condition monitoring, noise and vibration diagnostics, and audio testing and measuring.
The 779682-01 has improved measurement precision due to its 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC) resolution. Its eight input channels have a bandwidth of DC to 45 kHz, and each of them can be sampled simultaneously. To record the entire range of vibration and sound data, a wide bandwidth is required.
In applications with a high channel count, the PXI star trigger bus or the PCI RTSI bus can be used to synchronize numerous 779682-01 devices. Complex setups needing a large number of data acquisition points will especially benefit from this functionality. Its versatility can be further increased by integrating the device with the Sound and Vibration Toolkit or other software analysis tools to acquire precise time and frequency measurements.
There are options for both analog and digital triggers on the 779682-01. With its programmed full-scale levels and adjustable positive or negative slopes, the analog trigger can be utilized as a start trigger or reference source. It provides customizable hysteresis and resolution of 24 bits. The digital trigger requires a minimum pulse width of 100 ns and is compatible with 5 V TTL/CMOS. It supports rising or falling edge polarity. With the use of these triggering choices, users can customize how the device reacts to different signal conditions.
