First, it has 64-bank, optically isolated input lines that can be configured in a source or sink configuration. Such isolation allows an extended voltage range of ± 30 VDC and also supports direct connection to a variety of industrial electronic devices, sensors, and actuators.
Likewise, it also supports programmable power-up states, which means you can configure the initial states of the digital I/O thus ensuring safe, glitch-free operations. Furthermore, the digital I/O watchdogs inside the 778967-01 protect against computer crashes, application crashes, driver crashes, and PCI bus failures. In addition, the change detection feature allows you to monitor digital events with minimal processor use. Lastly, the programmable input filters eliminate noise, glitches, and spikes on inputs and provide debouncing for switches and relays.
The 779867-01 requires a NI-DAQmx 7.2 driver, which is included free with the purchase of the module. You can program the module in LabVIEW, ANSI C, Microsoft Visual C++, C#, and Visual Basic. NET.
