National Instruments 778279-02 PXI Sound and Vibration Module
The National Instruments 778279-02 PXI Sound and Vibration Module is a component of the PXI-4472B Model series. With its dynamic signal acquisition capabilities, it is specifically made for sound and vibration measurements. This module can digitize input signals simultaneously for a variety of industrial applications because it has eight input channels.
Each input channel of the 778279-02 module features integrated electronic piezoelectric (IEPE) signal conditioning, optimized for accelerometers and microphones. Furthermore, when a user selects a sample rate, integrated anti-aliasing filters adapt automatically to maintain accurate and dependable readings at various frequencies.
The 778279-02 module is noteworthy for its low AC cutoff frequency of 0.5 Hz, which makes it especially useful for recording AC vibration measurements at extremely low frequencies. Its applicability is improved in applications where accurate monitoring of low-frequency vibrations is necessary.
Through the RTSI bus, the module enables synchronization with additional 778279-02 units or external devices. Precise timing signals can be transferred between modules using the PXI star trigger bus, guaranteeing synchronization with less than 1 ns of skew between channels. With this degree of synchronization, there can be very little phase mismatch across devices in the same chassis, even for signals as high as 1 kHz.
The 778279-02 module comes with NI-DAQ, which offers an extensive library of functions that may be accessed through the ADE (Application Development Environment). These features ease complicated interactions between the DAQ hardware and the computer, which helps users with programming jobs. Furthermore, NI-DAQ preserves a uniform software interface between generations, making platform switches easier with fewer code changes.
Both pretrigger and posttrigger trigger modes are available for signal capture on the 778279-02 module. Digitalization of signals takes place both before and after a trigger condition in pretrigger mode, and after the trigger condition in posttrigger mode. Increased adaptation of the module to various measurement settings is a result of the trigger modes' versatility.
