The National Instruments 781490-01 is an 8-input sound and vibration module. It is designed for precision measurement tasks and is also known as the PXIe-4492 unit. It features 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with a high dynamic range that makes it ideal for capturing detailed sound and vibration data. The module supports a sampling rate range from 100 S/s to 204.8 kS/s along with a resolution of less than 181.9 μS/s that ensure accurate data acquisition across all channels simultaneously. Each of the eight input channels of this 781490-01 unit can be configured independently for AC or DC coupling. The input configuration is pseudodifferential that offers 50 Ω resistance between the negative input and chassis ground.
The NI 781490-01 includes integrated IEPE (Integrated Electronics Piezo-Electric) signal conditioning that provides 4 mA of constant current to power transducers such as accelerometers and microphones. This feature supports TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) according to the IEEE 1451 standard that facilitates automated sensor setup and reducing the potential for configuration errors. The module's antialiasing filters are automatically adjusted to match the sample rate that ensure the integrity of the acquired data by preventing frequency distortion. The 781490-01 module offers exceptional performance in both AC and DC coupled measurements.
