PXIe-4497, 16-Input, PXI Sound and Vibration DSA Device
National Instruments PXIe-4497 PXI Sound and Vibration Module
The PXIe-4497 (Part Number: 781369-01) is a high-performance Dynamic Signal Acquisition (DSA) module designed for sound and vibration applications with high channel counts. The module features a 204.8 kS/s sample rate, a dynamic range of up to 114 dB, software-selectable input gain levels, and 16 differential analog input channels. It supports AC/DC coupling on a per-channel basis and has a -3 dB high-pass filter cutoff frequency of 0.5 Hz (-0.1 dB at 3.2 Hz).
With 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) and integrated IEPE signal conditioning, the NI PXIe-4497 is optimized for precise measurements with microphones, accelerometers, and other transducers. The built-in anti-aliasing filters automatically adjust to the sample rate, ensuring high-fidelity signal acquisition across a wide frequency range. The PXIe-4497 offers synchronous sampling on all channels, programmable gain per channel, and TEDS sensor support for automatic configuration. Common applications include noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) analysis, microphone arrays, and dynamic structural testing.
The module supports overload detection in both the analog and digital domains. Users can access OverloadedChansExist and OverloadedChans properties to monitor overload conditions. An analog overrange does not necessarily cause a digital overrange, as the delta-sigma ADC and anti-aliasing filters prevent distortion from propagating into the digitized signal. The device includes an SMB digital trigger connector and InfiniBand 4x analog I/O connectors. It has a power requirement of 2100 mA at +3.3 V and 810 mA at +12 V, though actual consumption may vary.
The PXIe-4497 measures 6.3 x 3.9 inches, weighs 11.5 oz, and operates within a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C (storage: -20 °C to 70 °C). The module has a "Last Time Buy" date of March 28, 2024, but remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
