776910-01, 8 Channels, 16-Bit, AT-MIO-16XE-50 Multifunction I/O Device
National Instruments 776910-01 Multifunction I/O Device
National Instruments' 776910-01, also known as the AT-MIO-16XE-50, is a flexible multifunction I/O device that may be used to reliably acquire data and satisfy a variety of application needs. With 16 analog inputs (AI) and 16-bit resolution, this ISA device can sample data at a rate of up to 20 kS/s. Streaming to disk at the same rate is supported, contingent on the performance of your hard drive. The 776910-01 is a complete solution for a range of data acquisition requirements, featuring 8 digital I/O channels, two 12-bit analog outputs (AO), two 24-bit counter/timers, and digital triggering functionality.
As part of the AT E Series, the 776910-01 is a Plug and Play-compatible multifunction board for PC AT and compatible computers. This series consists of boards with voltage-output DACs and 12- and 16-bit ADCs that support 16 to 64 analog inputs. In addition, the series provides two 24-bit counter/timers and up to 32 digital I/O lines that are compatible with TTL. These boards are easier for users to configure and calibrate via software because they don't have DIP switches, jumpers, or potentiometers.
Due to the National Instruments DAQ-PnP bus interface chip, the AT E Series boards—including the 776910-01—are the first to have fully switchless and jumperless design. With the assistance of the Plug and Play ISA Specification, this chip allows software setup of DMA, interrupts, and base I/O addresses. It also links the board to the AT I/O bus. Without physically taking the board away from the computer, users can rearrange it. In order to support applications like buffered pulse generation, equivalent time sampling, and smooth sampling rate modifications, the board's DAQ-STC system timing controller controls time-related operations.
Real-Time System Integration (RTSI) bus, another characteristic of the 776910-01, enables synchronization of several measurement functions to a single trigger or timing event. This bus allows timing and trigger signals to be sent among up to five DAQ boards in a PC. It also includes an interface and ribbon cable. Furthermore, the 776910-01 can interface with a SCXI system to obtain more than 3,000 analog signals from different sources, such as strain gauges, voltage sources, thermocouples, RTDs, and current sources.
