Often referred to as the PXI-6071E, the 777676-01 is a highly configurable PXI Multifunction I/O Module from National Instruments. It was designed to satisfy the demands of a range of applications in research, design verification/test, industrial test, and laboratory automation. With its extensive analog and digital I/O as well as its two 24-bit counters/timers, this module provides dependable DAQ capabilities for a variety of applications. The NI-DAQmx driver and configuration utility that come with the module make setup and measurements easier.
Every time-related function of the 777676-01 is controlled by the National Instruments DAQ system timing controller (DAQ-STC). Many timing groups are included in the DAQ-STC for the purposes of general-purpose counter/timer, analog input (AI), and analog output (AO). More specifically, it provides three 24-bit and one 16-bit counters for AO, two 24-bit counters for general-purpose operations, and two 24-bit and two 16-bit counters for AI. For 50 ns or 10 µs timing resolutions, users can independently configure these groups. Interconnections between internal timing signals and other internal blocks can be made flexible and software-configurable with the DAQ-STC. Furthermore, it supports both buffered and non-buffered operations with PFI lines for importing external timing and trigger signals or exporting clocks and triggers generated locally.
The 777676-01's capabilities for sensor and high-voltage measurements are enhanced by its compatibility with SCC or SCXI signal conditioning modules. With features like modular architecture, expandability to 3,072 channels, integration of multiple I/O functions into a single platform, high bandwidth with signal acquisition at up to 333 kHz, and multiple connectivity options, SCXI is especially advantageous for large measurement systems or those requiring high-speed acquisition.
This multifunction I/O module offers 64 single-ended or 32 differential channels, selectable per channel through software. It uses an ADC with 12-bit successive approximation to get a maximum sampling rate of 1.25 MS/s. Relative accuracy of ±0.5 LSB (dithered) and ±1.5 LSB (undithered), differential nonlinearity within ±0.5 LSB (typical) to ±1.0 LSB (maximum), and assured 12-bit no missing codes are some of its transfer properties. There is very little offset error; pre-calibration errors are between ±2.5 mV and ±100 mV, while post-calibration pregain and postgain errors are between ±12 μV and ±0.5 mV, respectively.
