National Instruments FP-DI-DC Discrete Input Module
The FP-DI-DC is a dual-channel Discrete Input Module. National Instruments is the developer of this module. The module can also be identified by the part number 778071-03. The NI FP-DI-DC is available with DC input voltage. The module’s nominal input voltage range is 5 to 24 VDC. The FieldPoint module can be utilized in those applications where the user needs isolation between discrete channels. The module has flexibility in mounting and can easily be fitted on DIN railing. The FP-DI-DC is equipped with 2 differential or single-ended analog inputs with voltage and current input impedances of 2.2 MΩ and 133 Ω respectively, and a resolution of 12 bits.
The two channels of this Discrete Input Module have isolation between them. The status of channels is configured and comes with LED indicators. The LEDs enable the user to identify the status of the channels. If a voltage over the threshold exists between the “a” and “b” terminals, then the channel is in the ON state. The compatibility of the NI FP-DI-DC module is for both sourcing and sinking devices. This Discrete Input Module can be connected with the FP-TB-10 terminal base. The FP-DI-DC module can be used in conjunction with 8 or 16-channel FieldPoint modules on one FieldPoint bank.
The FP-DI-DC is designed for the voltage range of 0 to 32 VDC with a nominal input range from 5 to 24 VDC. This Discrete Input Module has a maximum delay time of 0.4 ms. The input impedance of this FieldPoint Module is 1.8 kΩ. The maximum power requirement for this module is 60 mW. The NI FP-DI-DC Discrete Input Module can safely operate in the temperature range of -40° to 70° C.
The I/O module weighs 2.1 oz, with a field-wiring diameter of 24 to 12 AWG. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of -40 to 70 °C and -55 to 85 °C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%. The NI device is designed to comply with the following electrical safety standards: IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 3121-1, UL 61010C-1, and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1.
