National Instruments FP-TB-10 FieldPoint Terminal Base

The FP-TB-10 is a FieldPoint Terminal Base which accommodates up to 6 of the FieldPoint dual-channel I/O modules. The NI FP-TB-10 is constructed by National Instruments with part number 777519-10.  Each dual-channel I/O module used with the FP-TB-10 is independently isolated. Dual-channel modules used with the National Instruments FP-TB-10 Terminal Base can function with any of the eight or sixteen standard channel modules in the same FieldPoint bank. The device is equipped with 36 screw terminals. It has 2 differential or 2 single-ended analog input modules, a 12-bit resolution, voltage and current input impedances of 2.2 MΩ and 133 Ω. Also, it has 2 single-ended analog output modules with an output impedance and output drive of 10 Ω and 10 mA.

This terminal base provides a feasible solution to many applications which require channel-to-channel isolation. The FP-TB-10 provides hot plug and play live swapping and insertion of the modules, which allows any module to be installed without shutting down the network power and operation. The NI FP-TB-10 allows other dual-channel modules to be installed without creating any interruption in the FieldPoint system’s operation. After replacing the dual-channel module with a different one, the terminal base will automatically update the output value of the module after automatically configuring the new module settings.

The FP-TB-10 Terminal Base provides double insulation for an operating voltage up to 250 Vrms. The field wiring is protected from the faulty voltage up to 2500 Vrms. It has a power requirement of 150 mW. Also it has power requirements of 375 mW, 1100 mW, 60 mW, and 70 mW for the analog inputs, analog outputs, discrete inputs and discrete outputs respectively. The National Instruments FP-TB-10 is capable of providing a measurement resolution of 12 bits that is 1 part in 4096. The NI FP-TB-10 FieldPoint Terminal Base can conveniently be clipped or mounted and locked onto standard 35 mm DIN-rails or panels. This feature makes the terminal base convenient to use, ensuring it is flexible enough for several types of applications.

The FP-TB-10 weighs 10.2 oz. It has a recommended operating temperature range of –40 to +70 °C, and a storage temperature range of –40 to +100 °C.
