National Instruments MID-7652 Servo Motor Drive
Featured with Integrated Cooling and a Compact Enclosure, the National Instruments MID-7652 (Part Numbers: 778004-01 and 778004-05) is a 2-Axis Servo Drive for DC-brush servo motors. This model is designed for the NI-73xx Series of Motion Controllers and it offers 5 A of current per axis at 48 VDC. The NI MID-7652 can be coupled with a variety of servo motors as it comes equipped with adjustable pulse-width modulation amplifiers. Thus, users can adjust continuous and peak output current settings according to their requirements.
The integrated power supply provided in this model is designed to use standard 120/140 VAC for operation. The NI MID-7652 features separate motor power, limit switch, and encoder terminal blocks for each axis. This arrangement results in quick and simplified field wiring. The National Instruments Motion Controllers connect to MID-7652 through a 68-pin interconnect cabling. This cable carries all control, command, and feedback signals.
Multiple means are provided for amplifier disable/inhibit protection. For direct motor, inhibiting power and enable switches are accessible on the front panel. An interlock is also incorporated to initiate motion system shutdown in case of link failure between the motion drive and the host computer.
The NI MID-7652 offers support to differential inputs for Index, Phase A, and Phase B signals. User can accommodate encoders with a variety of phase relationships by connecting the signals to the inverting inputs or by swapping the signals. This motor drive weighs around 10.2 kg in its standard configuration. The dimensions are 12.0 by 10.0 by 3.5 inches.
