The NI PXI 7342 (Part Number: 779036-02) is a Servo/Stepper PXI Motion Controller Module designed for 2-axis applications. The device has 32 digital I/O channels with an input resolution of 12 bits. It comes featured with dual processors, multiaxis interpolation, and a real-time onboard OS. This controller module offers fully coordinated circular, gearing, point-to-point, and vector space, as well as blended motion trajectory control. The NI PXI 7342 is a viable solution for more complicated moves. The integrated Central Processing Unit (CPU) on this module has an embedded real-time operating system with event-driven and multitasking control. This arrangement enables several motion control processes and programs.
This model is compatible with Windows 2000/NT/XP and real-time performance with LabVIEW operating systems. It fully supports leading industrial applications, including but not limited to, the LabVIEW, NI Motion Assistant, Measurement Studio, LabWindows/CVI, Visual Basic, C/C++, etc. The device hardware can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. The NI PXI 7342 is a powerful module which comes with a 62 ms PID loop update rate. It also supports 3D contouring and 3D linear and circular interpolation. This module is an ideal solution for machine builders and end-users who need to develop robust applications quickly and easily. With the proper drive, the user can utilize the NI PXI 7342 for piezoelectric control and motor control. This Stepper/Servo PXI Motion Controller comes with four general purpose inputs that can be used as feedback for closed-loop control, as well as in simple monitoring applications. The NI device is equipped with high-density 68-pin female VHDCI connectors for external motion and digital I/O connections.
The NI PXI 7342 can operate in different servo-control loop modes, which are PID, PIVff, S-Curve, and dual loop. This model also has 4 MHz (full, half, and microstrip) maximum pulse rate and it can operate with 120 ns at > 2 MHz minimum pulse width. The step output modes supported are step and direction or CW/CCW.
PXI 7342 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the motion controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
