The PC-LPM-16 is a sixteen analog channel Multifunction I/O Board is the non-Plug and Play version of the PC-LPM-16/PnP. The NI PC-LPM-16 board is manufactured by National Instruments and has two versions. The legacy version has assembly number 181215-01, while the updated version has assembly number 183527X-02. This Multifunction I/O Board is an affordable board, making it perfect for lab work in academic and industrial settings. Since this board has low power consumption and is a compact board, it is appropriate for laptops. The National Instruments PC-LPM-16 requires a maximum of 50 mA current to operate at +5 VDC and 15 mA max current at +12 VDC. The device has an overvoltage protection of ±35 V or ±45 V.

The PC-LPM-16 has a 12-bit ADC, which is helpful in high-resolution applications like DC voltage measurement, chromatography, and temperature measurement. There are 16 TTL-compatible digital I/O lines (8 input and 8 output). The analog input channels are beneficial in data logging and signal analysis. The NI PC-LPM-16 has a sampling rate of 50 kS/s maximum. Also, the device has 3 counter/timer channels (with 1 dedicated to analog input) with a 16-bit resolution.

16 bytes of I/O space is required for this board. This Multifunction I/O Board contains one DIP switch as well as three jumpers to configure the analog input settings and PC bus interface. The I/O base address selection can be accomplished with switches. The I/O base address alignment is located on the 32-byte boundary. The gain selection can be accomplished on this board with jumpers. The PC-LPM-16 is compatible with different National Instruments DAQ and SCXI hardware. This Multifunction I/O Board can be programmed with a variety of software packages or application development environments (ADEs) such as the NI-DAQ driver software, LabVIEW, and LabWindows/CVI etc. The device is equipped with a 50-pin D male ribbon cable I/O connector.

The PC-LPM-16 measures 4.4 x 3.9 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0° to 70° C, a storage temperature range of -55° to 150° C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5% to 90%.
