National Instruments PCI-CAN/LS CAN interface Device

The PCI-CAN/LS is a low-speed CAN Interface Device by National Instruments. The part number of the device is 778007-01. The CAN Interface Device is a fault-tolerant CAN device used to program CAN applications. This model is designed to communicate with CAN devices with a low speed. The PCI-CAN/LS offers advanced functions like listen-only and self-reception filter modes. The PCI-CAN/LS interface device is equipped with special transceivers. This feature supports sleep/wake-up mode. This device is also compatible with the RTSI bus. The PCI-CAN/LS can be synchronized with DAQ, CAN, and motion devices for PCI. The RTSI bus also enables the PCI-CAN/LS to share signals.

The PCI-CAN/LS CAN Interface Device is a single port device. To interface with other devices, the PCI-CAN/LS is equipped with a 9-pin D-SUB connector. The DB-9 connector used in the PCI-CAN/LS is a male connector. A Philips SJA1000 CAN controller is also available in the device. This connector is used to implement CAN protocols. The PCI-CAN/LS is also compatible with 11-bit and 29-bit arbitration IDs. An Intel microprocessor is used in the PCI-CAN/LS device for timed CAN frame transfer. This model can sample data at a maximum rate of 125 kb/sec and supports 100% busload. The PCI-CAN/LS also incorporates a TJA1054A transceiver.  

The PCI-CAN/LS supports two operating systems. These systems are Windows and LabVIEW Real-Time. The supported versions of Windows are Windows 2000, NT, XP, Me, and 98. The PCI-CAN/LS CAN Interface dDevice comes with built-in Application and Driver software. The supported application software is the bus monitor utility. The built-in driver software is NI-CAN. The device with built-in NI-CAN is used in several industrial and research applications. NI-CAN is specifically ideal for automation applications.
