National Instruments PXI-2540 PXI RF Matrix Switch Module
The NI PXI-2540 (Part Number: 778572-40) is an 8x9 Switching Matrix Module capable of routing RF signals up to 350 MHz. With its non-blocking design, the user can interface any line or segment inside the switching network and augment the adaptability of the test framework. Isolation relays on the module detach unused parts of the changing network to keep up RF execution and high isolation at 350 MHz. The density and bandwidth of the NI PXI-2540 are perfect for directing signals between NI work generators and fast digitizers. The PXI-2540 module utilizes high-density push-on MCX connectors for discrete yet manageable cabling. NI offers direct MCX-to-MCX links along with options for BNC, SMB, and SMA availability that give simple accessibility to digitizers, work generators, and other RF generators and analyzers.
For higher channel count applications, the user can interface numerous modules together to make switching matrices of 8x24, 8x36, and bigger. Matrix extension requires eight MCX-to-MCX cables and NI offers a 0.15 m version to limit cabling between contiguous modules.
Two triggers are utilized to handshake the PXI-2540 switch with other PXI instruments. The Scanner Advanced trigger demonstrates when the card has closed all the necessary switches for the next scan and the switches have settled or debounced. This model offers an 8x9 RF framework for routing signals up to 350 MHz, RF execution at 350 MHz: insertion loss <2.3 dB, isolation >75 dB (typical), up to 60 V or 0.5 A, triggering by means of the PXI backplane, and the capacity to configure a complete PXI system.
