National Instruments 780340-01 Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module

The National Instruments 780340-01 (or PXI-7852) is a high-performance Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module from the R-series. This module features a user-programmable Virtex-5 LX50 FPGA that provides flexibility for on-board processing and direct control over I/O signals. The FPGA offers 28,800 flip-flops, 28,800 6-input LUTs, and 48 DSP48 slices. It is ideal for applications like custom protocol communication, hardware-in-the-loop testing, high-speed control, and sensor simulation.

The 780340-01 includes eight analog input channels with a ±10 V input range. It offers 16-bit resolution and a maximum sampling rate of 750 kS/s per channel. Each channel uses a successive approximation ADC that offers independent timing and triggering for multirate sampling. The inputs are protected against overvoltage (up to ±42 V when powered on) and have a high input impedance of 10 GΩ in parallel with 100 pF. Output characteristics feature eight single-ended voltage output channels with a ±10 V range. The output channels also offer 16-bit resolution and capable of 1 MS/s maximum update rate.
