National Instruments 780341-01 Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module
The 780341-01 is the identifying part number for the PXI‑7853, a multifunction reconfigurable I/O module from National Instruments. With the Virtex-5 LX85 FPGA, this module provides direct control over I/O signals and high-performance onboard processing. It guarantees total flexibility in the timing and synchronization of the system. This device is suitable for high-speed control, custom protocol communication, hardware-in-the-loop testing, sensor simulation, and other applications needing accurate timing and control since it can be customized using the LabVIEW FPGA Module.
With a dedicated ADC for each channel, the 780341-01 enables independent timing and triggering. Specialized functions that are normally outside the scope of regular data acquisition hardware, such as individual channel triggering and multi-rate sampling, are made possible by this design. The eight input channels can function in three distinct modes, DIFF, RSE, and NRSE, which are software-selectable and apply to all channels. With a 16-bit resolution and a sequential approximation basis, the ADC guarantees excellent accuracy and a quick conversion time of just 1 μs. With 750 kS/s as the highest sampling rate per channel, it is quite effective for quick data acquisition jobs.
The module's input impedance is notably high at 10 GΩ in parallel with 100 pF when powered on, and a minimum of 4.0 kΩ when powered off or under overload conditions. The offset currents are each ±5 nA, and the input signal range is ±10 V with little input bias. Sturdiness is ensured by the inputs' capacity to withstand a maximum operating voltage of ±12 V relative to ground and to offer overvoltage protection up to ±42 V while the power is on and ±35 V when it is off. Signal integrity is guaranteed from DC to 100 kHz with crosstalk reduced to -80 dB.
For analog output, the 780341-01 provides eight single-ended voltage output channels, each with a 16-bit resolution. At 1.0 μs, the update rate can reach up to 1 MS/s, so it is quite quick. Accurate and reliable analog outputs are guaranteed by the DAC's improved R-2R design.
Because the module has 96 digital I/O channels that are compatible with TTL in addition to analog I/O, it can be used for a wide range of digital signal processing applications.
