National Instruments 783200-01 Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device
The National Instruments 783200-01 (USB-7845R) is a multifunction reconfigurable I/O device designed for applications requiring high performance onboard processing and customizable system timing. This device features a user-programmable FPGA specifically the Kintex-7 70T which provides 82,000 flip-flops, 41,000 LUTs, 4,860 kbits of embedded block RAM and 240 DSP48 slices. The 783200-01 device has eight analog input channels which can be configured in differential non-referenced single-ended (NRSE) or referenced single-ended (RSE) modes. These channels utilize a 16-bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADC with a maximum sampling rate of 500 kS/s per channel. It offers independent timing and multirate sampling with selectable input ranges of ± 1 V, ± 2 V, ± 5 V and ± 10 V.
The input impedance varies based on the power state with a powered-on impedance of 1.25 GΩ and overvoltage protection of up to ± 42 V when powered on. These features ensure high accuracy and flexibility for measuring different signal types. The NI 783200-01 device offers eight single-ended voltage analog output channels with 16-bit resolution. These channels are capable of a maximum update rate of 1 MS/s with a range of ± 10 V and short circuit protection. The outputs are powered by enhanced R-2R DACs that provide fast response times and high accuracy suitable for control applications requiring fast and reliable analog signal generation.
The digital I/O capabilities of the 783200-01 model are equally impressive with 48 digital channels spread across two connectors. These channels can operate at frequencies up to 80 MHz supporting LVTTL and LVCMOS logic families. The device provides programmable logic levels and allows user configuration of power-on states for flexible integration into various digital systems. Input leakage currents are kept low at ± 15 µA. The power requirements for this multifunction reconfigurable I/O device are designed to accommodate a wide range of industrial applications with an input voltage range of 9 V to 30 V and a maximum power consumption of 20 W. Its physical design is compact with dimensions of 18.5 cm × 17.3 cm × 3.6 cm and the unit weighs 1,000 g.
