National Instruments 784143-01 PXI Digital Reconfigurable I/O Module

The National Instruments 784143-01 (PXIe-7846R) PXI Digital Reconfigurable I/O Module is a versatile R Series module designed for advanced data acquisition and control applications. It offers eight analog input (AI) channels, eight analog output (AO) channels and 48 digital input/output (DIO) channels all driven by a powerful Kintex-7 160T FPGA. This configuration supports complex real time processing and custom data manipulation.

The 784143-01 module’s analog inputs feature a 16-bit resolution and can operate in differential non referenced single ended (NRSE) or referenced single ended (RSE) modes. With a maximum sampling rate of 500 kS/s per channel, it provides precise data acquisition for a wide range of signal types. The inputs are protected against overvoltage up to ± 42 V when powered on. The module supports software selectable input signal ranges from ± 1 V to ± 10 V. The module's analog channels utilize a 16 bit enhanced R-2R DAC that is capable of a 1 MS/s maximum update rate. The output range is fixed at ± 10 V with a drive capability of ± 2.5 mA. The 784143-01also features programmable power on states and offers protection against short circuits and overvoltage conditions.

The 48 digital I/O channels are highly configurable with support for multiple logic families and a maximum frequency of 80 MHz on certain channels. Each channel can be individually programmed for direction control that makes the module adaptable to complex digital interfaces and high speed data communication requirements. The integration of a reconfigurable FPGA allows for custom logic development that enables real time processing and control applications to be tailored to specific user needs.

The NI 784143-01 module also includes advanced synchronization and data transfer capabilities by leveraging the PXI Express interface for high speed DMA, interrupt and programmed I/O operations.
