National Instruments 785360-01 Reconfigurable Digital I/O Device
The National Instruments 785360-01 is a reconfigurable digital I/O device that is specially designed for applications requiring precise timing and control. It is also known as PCle-7822R and belongs to the R-series. It features 128 channels and Kintex-7 325T FPGA technology. The FGPA offers 407,600 flip-flops and 203,800 LUTs that makes it suitable for tasks such as sensor simulation and high-speed waveform generation. The device's embedded Block RAM offers 16,020 Kbits, while its 840 DSP48 slices provide reliable data processing capabilities.
The 785360-01 device operates on multiple timebases (40 MHz, 80 MHz, 120 MHz, 160 MHz, and 200 MHz) and the default timebase is set to 40 MHz. Its accuracy is maintained within ±100 ppm which ensures reliable performance with a 250 ps peak-to-peak jitter. Data transfers are facilitated through DMA, interrupts, and programmed I/O. Onboard DRAM consists of a single bank with a 512 MB capacity that is capable of streaming data at a maximum theoretical rate of 800 MB/s.
The NI 785360-01 offers four connectors, each with 32 channels, supporting a maximum frequency of 80 MHz. Its compatibility with LVTTL and LVCMOS logic families ensures it adaptability across various applications. The logic family and voltage settings are software-selectable, with a default setting of 3.3 V. The digital I/O levels range from 1.2 V to 3.3 V to fulfill the input and output requirements. The 785360-01 device's protection features include ±20 V single line protection.
Power requirements for the 785360-01 reconfigurable digital I/O device depend on digital output loads and the configuration of the LabVIEW FPGA VI used. It draws 3 A at +3.3 V and 2 A at +12 V. The overall dimensions of the 785360-01 device are 18.1 cm x 12.6 cm x 2.2 cm and weigh only 171 g. It also features 4 x 68-pin VHDCI I/O connectors. It meets various safety and EMC standards (IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, and FCC 47 CFR Part 15B) to ensure compliance with international regulations.
The NI 785360-01 device is designed for Pollution Degree 2 environments and can operate at any altitude up to 2,000 m. The ideal ambient temperature range for this model is 0 °C to 40 °C. It supports operating humidity levels from 10% to 90% RH, non-condensing.
