The National Instruments 785570-01 (PXIe-7867R) PXI Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module is designed for high performance applications requiring precise timing, control and flexibility. It features a user programmable FPGA that enables direct control over I/O signals and provides customizable timing and synchronization options. The FPGA (Kintex-7 160T) boasts 202,800 flip-flops, 101,400 LUTs and 11,700 kbits of embedded block RAM. The module supports high speed streaming and data transfers with 512 MB of onboard DRAM and a maximum theoretical data rate of 800 MB/s.

The 785570-01 module includes 18 analog output channels each connected directly to the FPGA. These channels use a 16 bit enhanced R-2R DAC with a maximum update rate of 1 MS/s. The outputs are protected against short circuits and overvoltage with programmable power on states to suit specific application needs. The analog input section features 6 channels with a 16 bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADC and is capable of sampling at up to 1 MS/s per channel. Input modes are software selectable that allow for differential, non referenced single ended or referenced single ended configurations. The module's input signal range is also adjustable between ± 1 V and ± 10 V.

The NI 785570-01 provides 48 channels in terms of digital I/O across two connectors with a maximum frequency of 80 MHz on Connector 1. The digital I/O channels support LVTTL and LVCMOS logic families with 3.3 V voltage levels. Each digital I/O channel features direction control and is programmable per line that allows for flexible configuration in different operational scenarios.
