National Instruments PCIe-7842 Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device

The PCIe-7842 (Part Number: 781101-01) highlights a client programmable FPGA for superior locally available handling and direct control over I/O signals for complete adaptability of framework timing and synchronization. The user can modify these gadgets with the LabVIEW FPGA Module to create applications requiring exact planning and control, such as equipment testing, custom convention communication, sensor reproduction, and fast control. This model highlights a devoted A/D converter for every channel for autonomous planning and activating. This outline offers specific usefulness, such as multi rate testing and individual channel activating, which are outside the capacities of examination DAQ equipment. The PCIe-7842 has 8 analog inputs (with a 16-bit resolution and a sampling rate of 200 kS/s), 8 analog outputs (with a 16-bit resolution and a sampling rate of 1 MS/s), 96 digital I/O lines, and 3 DMA channels.

By utilizing the FPGA Module with the NI PCIe-7842, the user can graphically outline the planning and usefulness of the R Series gadget. If the user only has LabVIEW and not the FPGA Module, they cannot make new FPGA VIs, but rather they can make VIs that keep running on Windows or to LabVIEW Real-Time (RT) focus to control existing FPGA VIs.  A few applications require assignments, like continuous, floating point handling, or data-logging, while at the same time performing I/O and logic on the R Series gadget. The user can utilize the LabVIEW Real-Time Module to play out these extra applications while connecting with and controlling the device. The PCIe-7842 depends on a reconfigurable FPGA center encompassed by settled I/O assets for simple and advanced info and output. The user can design the conduct of the reconfigurable FPGA to coordinate the prerequisites of the estimation and control framework. It is also possible to execute this client characterized conduct as a FPGA VI to make an application-particular I/O gadget. The PCIe-7842 is equipped with 3 68-pin female high-density VHDCI I/O connectors.

The NI device weighs 0.28 lb, and measures 6.7 x 4.3 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, and a storage temperature range of –20 °C to 70 °C.
