National Instruments PCIe-7856 Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device
The NI PCIe-7856 (Part Number: 786455-01) is a Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device designed to be used in multiple applications. This device comes equipped with a Kintex-7 160T FPGA. The FPGA is entirely user-programmable. Thus, the user can anticipate supreme-performance onboard processing. The FPGA also has 11,700 kbits of embedded block RAM and 40 MHz default timebase. The NI PCIe-7856 can easily be customized through the LabVIEW FPGA Module for the development of complex applications, such as high-speed control, sensor simulation, custom protocol communication, etc.
For independent timing and triggering, this Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device offers a dedicated successive approximation register ADC (analog-to-digital converter) for each channel. Unlike most data acquisition devices, the PCIe 7856 can be used for individual channel triggering and multi-rate sampling as well. This device can acquire samples at 1 MS/s maximum sample rate and has 48 bidirectional digital channels.
The NI PCIe-7856 offers 8 analog input channels that can be operated in either DIFF, NRSE, or RSE modes with a software selectable input signal range. Possible analog input signal ranges for this model are ±5 V, ±10 V, ±1 V, and ±2. The 8 analog output channels are single-ended voltage outputs with 16 bits resolution, 1 μs update time, and 1 MS/s maximum update rate. A dedicated Enhanced R-2R DAC is provided for each analog output channel as well. The NI PCIe-7856 offers integrated short-circuit to ground protection for the analog outputs. This I/O Device has two 68-pin VHDCI I/O connectors. Connector 0 contains 16 channels and Connector 1 contains 32 channels.
