National Instruments 777459-18 Resistance Temperature Detector Input Module

Part Number 777459-18 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments SCC-RTD01 Resistance Temperature Detector Input Module. The 777459-18 features two differential analog input channels supporting an input range of ±400 mVDC with a fixed gain of 25 on each channel. The input impedance is 2 MΩ in parallel with 4.7 nF during normal powered-on and 20 kΩ (minimum) during powered-off and overload state. Furthermore, it uses a 3-pole Butterworth lowpass filter whose -3 dB cutoff frequency is 30 Hz. 

The 777459-18 operates up to 2 RTD input signals from a 2,3 or 4-wire Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD). The module weighs 24 g ( 0.8 oz) and supports a field-wiring diameter of range 28 to 16 AWG. The module features a 20-pin right-angle male connector and a 6-pin screw terminal for I/O purposes. The maximum working voltage ( signal plus common mode) of each input should remain within ±12 V of ground.

The 777459-18 features an amplifier with a common-mode rejection ratio of 110 dB at 60 Hz and an output range of ±10 V. Likewise, it has a single excitation channel with a constant-current source of 1 mA, ± 0.4 μA. The module requires a maximum analog power of 135 mW, which equates to a maximum current draw of 4.5 mA when supplied with a +15 V and a -15V source. On the other hand, the maximum digital power required is 153 mW, which equates to a maximum current draw of 30.6 mA at +5V. 

The 777459-18 has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C at a relative humidity of 5 to 90 %. On the other hand, it can be stored at temperatures between -20 to 70 °C. Note that the module is designed only for indoor use and may require mounting inside a sealed enclosure for outdoor use. Furthermore, the module is to be operated within a maximum altitude of 2000 m. The input module meets the requirements of the safety for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use as per the following standards; IEC 61010-1, EN-61010-1, UL 61010-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1.
