National Instruments SCC-SG24 Strain/Bridge Module

The SCC-SG24 (Part Number: 777459-37) is an advanced Strain/Bridge Module from National Instruments, which enables the user to carry out strain measurements for full bridge configuration with the resistance of at least 250 ohms. The National Instruments SCC-SG24 Strain/Bridge Module incorporates two differential input channels with an overvoltage protection of +42 VDC (powered on and off). There is separate circuitry for each channel to enable offset-nulling. The module also includes a built-in excitation circuit and an instrumentation amplifier for each channel. The differential outputs have a gain capability level of 100 at the output.

The NI SCC-SG24 module makes use of four active strain gage elements for full-bridge configuration. The NI software is capable of supporting three types of the full-bridge configuration. The full-bridge type configuration I & II allows the user to measure only the bending strain. The full-bridge configuration type III enables the user to only measure the axial strain. The module also has the capability to implement a shunt calibration mechanism. It allows the user to rectify any gain errors. The NI SCC-SG24 comes with the input signal range of ± 100 mV, along with a fixed gain with the value of 100. The NI device is equipped with 1 20-pin right-angle male connector and 1 6-pin screw terminal.

The National Instruments SCC-SG24 Strain/Bridge Module has extremely low input noise, with the RMS value of 1 µV. It also offers an analog input bandwidth of 1.6 kHz for a single pole RC filter. The minimum value for the common mode rejection ratio of the module is 110 dB min. The National Instruments SCC-SG24 Strain/Bridge Module also has one channel for excitation with the current drive of 42 mA2.

The NI device weighs 37 g, and measures 3.50 x 1.15 x 0.73 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C, a storage temperature range of –20 to 70 °C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%.

The SCC-SG24 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
