SCXI-1315, 8 Channel, 48 Screw Terminal, LVDT Terminal Block
National Instruments SCXI-1315 LVDT Terminal Block
The SCXI-1315 (Part Number: 777687-15) is a Front-Mounting Terminal Block created for utilization with the SCXI-1540 LVDT module. This combination enables simple connection to linear variable differential transformers (LVDTs), rotary variable differential transformers (RVDTs), and resolvers via screw terminals. The SCXI 1315 has 26 10 14 AWG maximum field wire gauge. The NI SCXI-1315 Terminal Block has 48 screw terminals, which are organized in eight groups of six. Every group of terminals corresponds to a single channel of the eight total channels on the SCXI-1540.
This 8-Channel Terminal Block has six terminals for every LVDT channel, which are as follows: CH+, CH-, EX+, EX-, SYNC, and GND. First, CH+(N) is the input signal from the LVDT secondary and is a positive terminal. Secondly, CH-(n) is a negative terminal and is an input signal from the LVDT secondary. EX+(n) refers to the excitation signal to the LVDT primary; it is a positive terminal. Next, EX-(n) refers to the excitation signal to the LVDT primary but is a negative terminal. SYNC(n) is an input synchronization signal. Lastly, GND refers to ground.
When the user is setting up their National Instruments SCXI-1315 LVDT Terminal Block, there are a few items required to make the setup as simple as possible. The user will need the Installation Guide, an SCXI chassis, the SCXI-1540 LVDT Module and User Manual, a wire insulation stripper, a wire cutter, long-nose pliers, a 1/8 in. flathead screwdriver, and Number 1 and 2 Philips-head screwdrivers. The device can be configured for use with the SCXI-1540 with software packages/application development environments such as the NIDAQ 7 driver software, LabVIEW, LabWIndows/CVI, Measurement Studio, and VI logger.
To install the device, the module’s front connector is connected to the mating connector on the terminal block. Then, the top and bottom thumbscrews on the terminal block is tightened. The NI device has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C, a storage temperature range of –20 to 70 °C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%.
SCXI-1315 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Terminal Block will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
