SCXI-1324, 48 Screw Terminals, 250 Vrms Channel to Channel, High-Voltage Screw Terminal Block
National Instruments SCXI-1324 High-Voltage Screw Terminal Block
The NI SCXI-1324 (Part Number: 777687-24) is ideal for high-voltage general-purpose switching applications. This model is meant to be used with the SCXI-1160 Relay Module; it easily mounts to the front of the module. The SCXI-1324 is a Shielded Terminal Block, which enables swift, effortless signal connections. The 48 screw terminals on the SCXI-1324 High-Voltage Terminal Block link to the 16 relays on the interior of the SCXI-1160 Relay Module. This model does not have a cold-junction sensor, unlike some of the other SCXI Terminal Blocks. The common-mode isolation for the SCXI 1324 is 250 VRMS for both channel to channel and channel to ground. The device has a load or signal current of 2 A maximum per channel.
When the user is ready to connect the NI SCXI-1324 to the SCXI-1160, first they need several other items. AN SCXI chassis, wire cutter, wire insulation stripper, long-nose pliers, a 1/8 in. flathead screwdriver, and Number 1 and 2 Philips-head screwdrivers are required. Once these items are ready, the user can join the module front connector to the appropriate connector on the High-Voltage Screw Terminal Block. Then, the user can tighten the top and bottom thumbscrews on the rear of the SCXI-1324 to make sure it will stay in place.
If the user would like to clean the National Instruments SCXI 1324 Terminal Block, it is best to initially use a soft, nonmetallic brush to get the dust off the model. The user can get other contaminants off of the Terminal Block with deionized water and a firm nonmetallic brush. Before returning the SCXI-1324 to operation, it should be fully dry with all contaminants removed.
The SCXI-1324 has a maximum field wire gauge of 26 to 16 AWG. The NI device has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of 0 to 50 °C and –20 to 70 °C respectively, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5 to 90%. It is designed to comply with the following electrical safety standards: IEC 61010-1, UL 3111-1, and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1.
