Moreover, it supports extended (29-bit) and standard (11-bit) arbitration IDs and is compatible with J1939 protocol networks. It requires about 250 mA of current at 5 VDC, with its physical layers powered internally through a DC-to-DC converter and electrically isolated up to 500V.
The device uses the NI-CAN driver software, which is compatible with Microsoft Windows and offers a detailed API for Visual Basic 6.0, Microsoft Visual C/C++, Borland C/C++, and NI LabVIEW. Additionally, NI Spy and Bus Monitor utilities come with the driver software. The CAN Interface Device also offers software-selectable termination for various low-speed configurations. The device features one input/output trigger line and one input/output clock line, both of which are compatible with TTL (Transistor-Transistor Logic) levels. At power-on, the device is in a high-impedance input state (High-Z). It responds to rising edge triggers, ensuring accurate and timely operations.
